Deep thanks to those who’ve read the story, and especially those who took the trouble to “like” it or leave a comment. I wrote the first draft in 2018, when there was a “small” war in the Donbas region, and, partly because of my interest in politics, set the story in Odessa. Later drafts moved to the Baltics, still reflecting geo-politics (I think it’s a justifiable interest) but as I developed as a writer – I recommend wholeheartedly joining a writing group – I circled around the original inspiration. A kiss. Then worked out from there, giving due respect to the main characters. I’m grateful to Frazzled Lit for publishing the story and allowing readers to apply their own alchemical touches!

A story that is being played out now, with no chance of escape.

A timeless story of love, care and uncertain hope set in troubled times. Quite charming - kudos

This story is so powerful, Kevin. I've been thinking about it a lot since I read it yesterday. The start feels almost otherwordly, with the empty mall and blasted-out cafe. Haunting
