I don’t worry these days when I’m not writing. I have ideas. I deliberately don’t write because when I start it takes over. I tell myself, the world has had enough of you, take a break.
Although saying that, this last month I’ve been writing a daily blog on here. So maybe I’m lying. I am writing.
I have my notebook and pen ready when looking for inspiration for a scene or my characters interiority. I interview the character with random or intentional questions and write down the replies. It sounds crazy, I know, but it works for me to move forward.
Exercises are a great way to stir the muse but the only reliable way is to show up consistently, that builds trust….

I think inspiration often shows up "unexpectedly ". We have to be ready with pen, pencil crayon etc at all times....😁
I totally agree, Susan! And I often use the voice recorder app on my phone to make notes on the fly.
